While some laptop makers are standing aside on this umpc battle, thinking if it's worth it, Asus spawns more and more netbooks. The EeePC 1000HD and the 904HD were announced and already people are confused.
What does the HD mean and why we need them?
The EeePC 1000HD it's basically the same machine as the Pentium M-based Eee 904, only with the 1000's 10-inch screen. Also 80GB hard drive and 1.3 MP camera.
The EeePC 904HD has a 9 inch display and a hard drive, as you’d expect from the name, it features a 900MHz Intel Celeron CPU. It has an 80GB hard drive, 0.3MP camera, and a 6 cell battery.
So it looks like the HD means hard drive.
Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play... ok, ok, but how to keep track of the differences from the 701 2G Surf, 701 4G, 701 4G Surf, 701 8G, 900, 901, 904HD, 1000, 1000H, and 1000HD?

I fully agree. The more I read about various models of Asus, the more confused I get. I guess, I will settle for less confusing (and better looking) HP 2133

I’m typing this message on an eeepc 900 whilst taking a sh**,now thats portable. I agree also, why come up with stupid names for so many modles. Users will just pick the best one and buy that option (thats what i did at the time). Please asus save your business and stop slighlty changing spec and adding a letter at the end, waste of time waste of money.
Lets just get it over with, heres my idea. Asus eeepc 42hdssd1000 with a keyboard 95% bigger than a standard eee. This is for users with fat fingers, who are fed up with trying to press shift @ with the same hand. Rant over.
