Fujitsu LifeBook U2010 sure looks like a ultra mobile computer, with a 5.6 inch screen and a 1.6 Ghz Atom processor. But the small size and high performance comes at a cost.

3G refers to mobile phone technological standards. What does it mean in this instance?

I feel like the eee 901 is all-around more bang for your buck. Although it does weigh a pound more.

3G means that this device can connect to the internet wirelessly like the iPhone 3G can

Wow, $1300? I could buy a badass full sized notebook for that price. I thought the idea with these small ones was for them to be cheap?

These small laptops have always been very expensive for their size. It was not until netbooks such as the eee pc came out that we started to see lower priced ones, but they’re still a bit expensive for the specs.

Nope, the point of small laptops was never to be cheap. Look at the Macbook Air. For them to be small and still viable, they need proprietary designed parts and more expensive parts like solid state drives as opposed to disks.
