MobileComputerMag managed to get his hands on a preproduction Asus Eee PC 904.
Here’s what you get for about $537:
- 900MHz Intel Celeron CPU
- 8.9 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display
- 80GB hard drive
- 6600mAh battery
Apparently Fujitsu doesn't get it. They wish to enter the crowded UMPC market with what seems to be an overpriced mediocre product.

The 8.9' screener will feature the classic now Atom Processor, a 1.3MP camera, an Express Card slot for a 3G modem, and will run Windows XP. And they expect you to pay $475 to $633 US for this.
That's what Asustek is promising. That and internet storage to compensate for the low disk space.
Asustek Computer expects to introduce new features for its Eee PC range including "whole-day" battery life and Internet storage. The company will also push out software and hardware upgrades every month to fill gaps in the netbook market.
Is this really possible? We've been promised "whole day" battery life for so long. This is the main feature we want. This is what it comes down to. It doesn't matter how powerful your UMPC is if you can't use it more than 2-3 hours at best.
Really guys, we need more POWER
Asus is getting ready to launch a set of accessories for your EeePC. First leaked photos started to appear on the interwebs.

LG is making the right choice by choosing to go with a LG-branded version of an MSI Wind U100. The WIND has received a lot of good reviews lately, MSI would definitely have the experience in manufacturing a notebook and the demand is clearly present.

LG's first netbook (X110) will feature an 8.9-inch panel, 2GB memory and 120GB hard drive. The netbook will adopt Windows XP, while the company has not yet decided whether to adopt Linux operating system.

Specifications:
While some laptop makers are standing aside on this umpc battle, thinking if it's worth it, Asus spawns more and more netbooks. The EeePC 1000HD and the 904HD were announced and already people are confused.

What does the HD mean and why we need them?
The EeePC 1000HD it's basically the same machine as the Pentium M-based Eee 904, only with the 1000's 10-inch screen. Also 80GB hard drive and 1.3 MP camera.
The EeePC 904HD has a 9 inch display and a hard drive, as you’d expect from the name, it features a 900MHz Intel Celeron CPU. It has an 80GB hard drive, 0.3MP camera, and a 6 cell battery.
So it looks like the HD means hard drive.
Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play... ok, ok, but how to keep track of the differences from the 701 2G Surf, 701 4G, 701 4G Surf, 701 8G, 900, 901, 904HD, 1000, 1000H, and 1000HD?
Two of the most authoritative bloggers in the umpc market have submitted their reviews on what was supposed to be an awesome ultra mobile device.
First review belongs to Jenn K. Lee from Pocketables. I must say it's a very well documented article, they've done a good job.
Second one comes from Steve 'Chippy' Paine of UmpcPortal.Chippy put this device through extensive real life testing.
Bottom line, the Kohjinsha SC3 impresses with it's design, but disappoints with it's battery life and Vista performance.
